Run'n'Roll for Help is a charity city run in Giessen, with the race focused on the downtown streets. It takes place annually and has been held for 28 years, attracting over 1,200 participants in its most recent event. Participants run, roll, or form teams, with entry fees supporting local social projects.
The participants include individuals with and without disabilities, small groups, and large teams from workplaces. The course follows the Giessen City Run route through the inner city, and the event relies significantly on volunteer support. Funds raised are divided between Lebenshilfe Giessen, which supports workplace projects for individuals with disabilities and mental illness, and Aidshilfe Giessen, which funds prevention programs for teenagers and young adults. The latest fundraising effort exceeded 19,000 euros. Organizers maintain community engagement through online photo galleries and the hashtags #MiteinanderMehrBewegen and #RunandRollforHelp.
