The Lemgoer Hanselauf is a running event held in Lemgo, North Rhine-Westphalia, at the end of August, featuring races around the town’s Wallanlagen. Participants can choose from adult distances of 3.3 km, 6.6 km, and 10 km. A 1.5 km children’s race and a 400 m Bambini run are also available, catering to participants from young children to experienced club runners. Approximately 1000 people participate annually, with the main races commencing in the evening, and the 10 km race starting last.
The adult courses are flat, and all races conclude at Lippegarten Lemgo. The event's organization is straightforward and community-focused, with registration and bib collection taking place at Engelbert-Kämpfer-Gymnasium. Late entries are permitted on race day. The Bambini run is designed to be relaxed, without registration, an entry fee, timing, or official rankings; children receive a participation certificate upon returning their bib.
