Wald- und Crosslauf covers off-road running events in the laufen.de calendar: forest runs and cross-country races rather than road-only city races. The calendar serves Germany’s running scene, with thousands of events searchable by distance and by a 25 km local radius, and it can filter for competitions whose results may be submitted to official athletics best lists.
The available race distances range from short 5 km starts through 7.5 km, 10 km, 15 km, 20 km, half marathon, 25 km, marathon, and 50 km. Events listed there either cooperate with laufen.de or are officially registered through the German Athletics Association and its state associations, linking them to the DLV system that has supported German running since 1963 with timing methods, safety measures, race rules, and a relief fund for families of runners killed in accidents.
