Julestjerneløbet

Julestjerneløbet is a Christmas-themed half marathon held in Store Dyrehave, a forest in Denmark featuring rolling terrain. The local running club Langgarverne organizes the event, which has a history spanning decades, recently marking its 40th anniversary. It is a small-scale race, not a large city event, with its results typically showing only a few dozen half-marathon finishers. The course follows the old parforce hunting roads, laid out in a star pattern with straight sections: Etvej, Tovej, Trevej, Firevej, Femvej, Seksvej, Syvvej, and Ottevej. This star layout is the race’s defining characteristic, guiding runners from the central junction through the forest’s hilly landscape instead of urban streets. The start and finish are located at the end of Ottevej, close to Overdrevsvejen. The event includes families, with children participating and supporting.
