The Media Maratón BTT Villa de Rota is a mountain-bike race held in June in Rota, located on the Cádiz coast. It covers a distance of 47 km and begins at 09:30. The event is listed on the Andalusian Cycling Federation calendar as part of the XCM Series Cádiz. Federation rules permit gravel bikes, meaning the race is open to more than just traditional mountain bikes.
The course is designed for participants who prefer rural trails near Rota over road cycling. The race accommodates a wide range of participants, from cadets and juniors to under-23s, elites, and masters up to Master 60, as well as women’s categories and cicloturista riders. This mix means club racers compete alongside those participating for enjoyment. Recent events have seen over 200 participants, with one edition nearing 300. Winners, such as Javier Periñán and Elite front-runners, have typically finished around the 1 hour 33 minute mark.
