Bather'night

Bather'night is a semi-night trail event in Bathernay, a village in the Drôme des collines area of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. It is usually held in late November, with runners starting in the afternoon and early evening rather than in full daylight. The program includes short trail races, walking, junior races, and a timed loop format, suiting those who want a challenging effort as well as families attending for the shorter distances. The main trail options feature routes around 6.5 km and longer routes up to about 24.5 km, with some sources listing 12 km or 13.5 km depending on the edition. A distinctive format is a 1.5 km loop with 80 m of climbing, run solo or as a relay for 1 hour 30 minutes. The start is by the village stadium party hall; children's races cover 400 m, 800 m without rankings, and 1.9 km. The shared evening schedule gives the event more of a local festival atmosphere than a standard road race.
