The Griffin Challenge begins and ends at Braybrooke Taproom in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, with runners starting at 9:00 AM. This is a six-hour lap event, not a fixed-distance race. Participants run, hike, or walk as many approximately 5K laps as they choose, with options for 5K, 10K, 10 miles, half marathon, marathon, and ultra distances.
The loop follows the Griffin Trail and Brampton Valley Way, primarily on maintained crushed-stone paths with a short grass section. The course is mostly flat with slight inclines, open sections through fields, and minimal tree cover for much of its length. This format is suitable for those new to longer distances, for extended training runs, and for groups of friends. Faster runners can accumulate laps; 15 laps can exceed 50 miles. Free parking, onsite toilets, proximity to Market Harborough station, and post-run refreshments at the Taproom simplify the day.
