Platán Kör is back for its second running, linked with the BBB festival, and it feels more like a compact runner’s challenge than a large anonymous road event: short loops, visible rivals, and no hiding once the watch starts. The course is a tight loop on the shore promenade, allowing runners to quickly settle into a rhythm, passing the same landmarks and people repeatedly. There are women’s and men’s races, plus mixed relay teams, and the one-hour format is the quirk: the objective is to complete the loop “as many times as possible in 1 hour,” with relay partners able to swap whenever they choose. Finishers registered in the early and normal periods receive a unique finisher medal, and the overall winners compete for sponsor prizes and vouchers.
