The Sportsmate Run Akabane Arakawa Half Marathon is a small Tokyo running event held near the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line elevated tracks, a 20-minute walk from Akabane Station. It takes place on a summer morning, regardless of weather, beginning with a half marathon, followed by 10 km, 5 km, 3 km, and parent-child races. With a limit of 500 participants, the event has a local feel rather than being a large-scale race, and it accommodates both novice runners and those seeking a timed performance.
The course follows a flat path along the Arakawa riverside, extending from near Shin Arakawa Ohashi towards Toda Bridge, with each one-way section being 2.5 km. Water and refreshments, including fruit and chocolate, are provided at the start and turnaround points. Automatic timing is offered for participants desiring an official time. All finishers are given certificates on the day, with awards for the top three in each category. The staff are committed to supporting runners throughout the event.
