Cols de Vallis begins at the RKVV Vijlen football canteen in Vijlen, located in the southern tip of South Limburg. This road-cycling tour has a limit of 250 participants and is structured around a 25.7 km circuit featuring approximately 494 meters of elevation gain. Participants can select their distance, completing one to six laps, ranging from 25.7 km to 152.2 km. Those opting for longer distances must start early. A portion of each entry fee benefits KWF, the Dutch Cancer Society.
The circuit crosses the hilly eastern part of South Limburg, including ascents of the Camerig and the Vaalserberg multiple times. With nearly 500 meters of climbing per lap, it presents a significant challenge, particularly for those completing longer distances. A resupply point is situated near Vaalsbroek on each circuit. The event provides practical amenities at the finish, including showers, changing rooms, a post-ride beverage, and complimentary downloadable photos. Cols de Vallis is also included in the Tour of Holland touring circuit.
