The Hezinger Grens Classic Gravel begins at Het Springendal, close to Nutter on the Dutch-German border in Twente, held in late November or early December. Gravel cyclists follow an 82-kilometer GPS course. Mountain bikers can select from 32, 45, or 55 kilometers, with these MTB routes marked by ribbons and also provided via GPS. Departures are scheduled in the morning between 9:00 and 10:00, functioning as a winter off-road tour rather than a closed-road competition.
The course navigates the diverse terrain surrounding Springendal, featuring singletrack, broader forest paths, sandy lanes between pastures, and minimal paved sections. WTCG has a long history of organizing ATB tours, and this event continues that local off-road custom. A notable aspect is the course access, facilitated by agreements with private landowners, Staatsbosbeheer, and Landschap Overijssel, allowing entry into normally restricted areas.
