Lynndale Junior Cross Country Relays

The Lynndale Junior Cross Country Relays are a junior team relay held at the Lynndale clubrooms, located beside the velodrome on Portage Road in New Lynn, Auckland. Racing begins at 2:30 pm. Teams consist of four runners and can be entered as mixed, girls, or boys teams. Each runner completes one 2.1 km lap, making the format straightforward: four short cross country legs, passed from teammate to teammate. The lap features a combination of grass, tarmac, and concrete, so normal running shoes are advised over spikes or barefoot running. Teams eligible for prizes must adhere to age regulations, including no more than two under-16 runners and one under-12 runner. Teams not meeting these criteria can still compete for the fastest team prize. A runner may participate for a second team on the same day, provided it is a different team. The event concludes in traditional club fashion with refreshments available after the races.
