The Baía de Sesimbra Open Water Crossing is a sea swim of approximately 2.5 km, beginning and ending at Praia da Califórnia in Sesimbra, Portugal. Taking place in October, it welcomes federated and non-federated swimmers 14 years of age and older, attracting around 600 participants.
The event is included in Portugal’s National Open Water Circuit and consists of three segments: a mini crossing, a race for federated swimmers, and a 1.4 km popular swim. Participants are provided with a cap by the organizers, must sign a liability waiver, and agree to the race rules prior to participation.
