Montalegre Urban Fit is a 9 km urban obstacle race in Montalegre, a high village in Portugal's Vila Real district, in the Barroso region of Trás-os-Montes. Runners face about 30 obstacles around the village, with the format closer to OCR than a road race: running, climbing, carrying, balance, strength, and agility all matter. The event is organized by Urban Fit Race and usually comes with the cold conditions typical of Barroso at that time of year.
The route uses Montalegre's historic streets, squares, and small corners rather than a closed stadium-style obstacle park. The setting looks out toward the Mourelo Plateau and Serra do Larouco, the second-highest point in mainland Portugal, which gives the race a mountain-town edge. Competitive fields include Elite Liga, Elite Internacional, and Liga Competitive, while the Guerreiro category gives amateur runners a less formal way in; individual and team entries are available, and the event is open from age 14. Some categories require OCR Portugal league registration, and the race also supports a local institution in Montalegre.
