Groton City Brew Run

The Groton City Brew Run is a 5K run or walk at Eastern Point Beach in Groton, Connecticut, followed by a brewfest. This end-of-summer event, organized by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and Groton Utilities, begins with a single mass start for both runners and walkers. Participants can register for the 5K, access the beer garden only, or combine race entry with beer garden access. A free kids' run is also available with advance registration. The race format is straightforward: complete the 5K run or walk, then enjoy local craft beverages, beer tastings, live music, and food trucks by the beach. The event originated as a local race in the early 2020s and has since grown, attracting nearly 600 participants at its most recent running. Its atmosphere is relaxed and social, resembling a beach gathering with a race bib more than a competitive road race.
