Quarryman Challenge 2027

The Quarryman Challenge begins in Lemont Downtown, offering participants a 5K or a 10-mile road race. This course features significant elevation changes through Lemont’s residential areas, commencing at 9 AM and concluding in the early afternoon. The 10-mile route has numerous twists and turns, presenting a challenge beyond simple flat-course speed. The event attracts a diverse field, including elite athletes, age-group contenders, recreational runners, and those primarily interested in the post-race refreshments. Training runs are available throughout the year, allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the course's inclines, bends, and aid station locations prior to the official event. The Lemont Park District, in conjunction with the Village of Lemont and its sponsors, organizes the race. The downtown location provides spectators with a convenient central point for viewing and congregating.
