Run for the Animals 5K 2026

The Run for the Animals 5K is a timed 5K run/walk held at Karst Farm Park in Monroe County, welcoming both people and dogs. This event has been an annual fundraiser for the Monroe County Humane Association for many years, with all funds raised supporting its programs and services. It attracts hundreds of runners, walkers, families, and their dogs, and also offers a virtual 5K option for those who wish to support the cause remotely. The course begins at Karst Farm Park and circles through the Monroe County Fairgrounds. Separate start times are provided for runners and walkers to ensure clearer pace groups, and well-behaved dogs may be added to adult registrations. The start/finish area also hosts the awards ceremony and sponsor booths, keeping families and participants near the event's activities post-race. Registration includes a race shirt and sponsor items; children aged 12 and under receive a discount. The day also features raffles and pet contests open to all attendees, regardless of race registration.
