Run For The Bacon 2026

Run For The Bacon is a 5K fun run and walk in Augusta, Wisconsin, held as part of the town’s Bean and Bacon Days celebration. It starts at 8:00 a.m. at Augusta Memorial Field, near Colfax and South Spring Street, and it is intentionally low-key: there is no chip timing, so the point is participation rather than chasing an official result. The start and finish are at the field, with show cars and tractors coming in as runners and walkers head out and return. The race leans into its bacon theme with the line “sweat your beans off for the bacon,” and proceeds support the local girls softball team. Local sponsors include Love Yourself Massage Therapy, Redline Design & Sign, the Augusta Lions Club, and Mulligans.
