The Rocky Hill Triathlon, sanctioned by USAT, takes place in Exeter, California, within the Sierra Nevada foothills near Rocky Hill. The primary triathlon offers two distances: a short course featuring a 400-yard swim, a 12.5-mile bike leg, and a 3.1-mile run; and a long course with an 800-yard swim, a 24.8-mile bike leg, and a 6.2-mile run. Additionally, participants can opt for separate 5K and 10K races, with the 10K route incorporating two ascents of Rocky Hill.
The course has its hills, with cycling and running segments crossing foothill terrain rather than a city circuit. This marks the event's 11th year, and it is described as a Central Valley race that maintains a somewhat understated presence. All finishers receive medals and pullover hoodies. Triathlon participants are also provided with items such as a trucker hat, towel, and cycling bottle. The finish area features music. Complimentary race photos, a beer ticket for VIP Pizza, and age-group awards for both male and female competitors across all distances complete the offerings.
