1. Baumberge Ultramarathon

The Baumberge Ultramarathon is a 45.7 km point-to-point run in western Germany, starting at Coesfeld station and finishing at Havixbeck station. It follows the Baumberger Wandermarathonweg, making it more akin to a marked long-distance trail run than a closed-road ultra. Runners navigate using hiking trail markers, with some sections on paths through protected areas and others open to normal traffic. The route features a short out-and-back to the Longinusturm, reaches the Baumberge high point at Westerberg (189 meters above sea level), and includes a 3.5 km loop deviating from the main hiking trail. Support is minimal: two aid stations, manual timing, no toilets or showers, no luggage transport, and self-sufficiency is required between stops.
