The RST Lübeck O-CTF begins at the sports ground on Riemannstrasse in Ratzeburg, with riders departing between 09:00 and 10:00. This CTF gravel-style cycling event, organized by Radsport Team Lübeck v. 1990 e.V. in Schleswig-Holstein, offers two primary distances: 53 km with approximately 360 metres of elevation gain, or 76 km with approximately 480 metres. The shorter route, estimated at around 4 hours 42 minutes, is a substantial ride, and both courses feature rolling terrain rather than being flat.
The route crosses the forests of Herzogtum Lauenburg and covers the lake district between Ratzeburg and Mölln; the early start is intended to minimize encounters with pedestrians. Participants depart in small, staggered groups of five, three minutes apart, lending the event a more organized club-ride atmosphere than a typical mass start. In damp autumn conditions, 87 participants attended, including individuals who had traveled from Bielefeld. The longer route consistently receives high commendation from returning riders, who have described it as the most scenic CTF route in northern Germany. The organizers ensure a well-supported event: coffee and rolls are available pre-ride, pasta with pesto and rice pudding are served at the Hellbachtal aid station, and ample cake is provided post-finish. A 25 km youth ride, supervised for children aged 9 to 12, has also been introduced.
