The Semi-marathon des Lions is a spring running event in Rueil-Malmaison, west of Paris, featuring a half marathon and a 10 km race organized annually by the local Lions Club. The 10 km begins first, followed by the half marathon. Both races welcome wheelchair athletes and joëlette teams. The event's purpose is charity, with the slogan “I Run and I Act to Transform Lives.” All profits benefit solidarity projects, and approximately 80% of each registration fee typically supports these actions.
The route is on asphalt, following the Seine's banks and passing through Parc des Bords de Seine, Golf Blue-Green Rueil-Malmaison, and Parc des Impressionnistes. The half marathon consists of one 5 km loop, followed by two laps of a course similar to the 10 km, allowing runners to maintain a consistent pace. Aid stations, bag drop, and changing rooms are available, with spectators along sections of the course. Funds from previous editions have supported handisport groups, diabetes and myopia screening, the Rueil-Malmaison social grocery store, handigolf workshops, childhood cancer initiatives, environmental projects, hunger relief, vision programs, and the refurbishment of a sailboat for youth excursions.
