Sobre esta carrera
The Poznań Marathon is a 42.2 km street race in Poznań, the capital of Poland’s Wielkopolska region, organized since 2000. It starts traditionally by the Poznań International Fair grounds and finishes on Plac Marka, close to the fair’s tall spire. It is one of Poland’s larger marathon-distance road races, with more than 80,000 runners from 63 countries having participated in past editions.
The race offers a full marathon day in a city that uses the event as one of its main sporting showcases. Its anniversary edition is named for Maciej Frankiewicz, a former deputy mayor of Poznań who supported the growth of sport in the city. The field draws local runners, visitors from across Poland, and international participants rather than only a small elite group.
