About this race

The Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail is a summer trail running event in Austria’s Pitztal, located high in the "Roof of Tyrol" near Mandarfen. The race offers a range of distances, from an 8 km event for younger runners to the P105 Salomon Ultra, a 103 km mountain ultra covering 6,000 meters of elevation gain. This event caters to juniors, novice trail runners, skilled amateurs, and professional athletes. The courses traverse alpine trails beneath peaks exceeding 3,000 meters, with distances including 16 km, 27 km, two 45 km routes, 63 km, 87 km, and the ultra marathon. Participants receive marked routes, GPX files, race briefings, and aid stations stocked with drinks, snacks, bread, and local Tyrolean items. Course marshals and mountain rescue services provide support. Past editions have sold out quickly, and the event maintains a practical mountain race atmosphere, offering luggage storage at the start and finish, parking in Mandarfen, optional shuttles for early departures, and finisher medals and certificates.
