About this race

Uluru and Kata Tjuta are visible on the horizon for this run through the "heart of Australia's Red Centre," defining the Australian Outback Marathon. It is a trail run in the outback style: exposed, earthy, and simple, featuring "iconic red sands and rugged landscapes" instead of city noise or roadside crowds. The setting is significant, with the course passing through the "rugged beauty of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park," one of Australia's most sacred areas. Underfoot, expect unsealed roads, bush tracks, soft-sand trails, and "plenty of Red Earth." The profile is mostly flat, with a few gentle inclines and small sand dunes that will challenge your legs. The shorter fun runs are suitable for beginners, while the longer races are for runners familiar with fatigue on loose ground. Entry is part of a package, including tours, dinners, and a "Celebration Dinner under stars," not just a bib pickup and start line.
