2026 Backyard Ultra World Team Championships

Integral Energy Recreational Park on Yellagong Street hosts the 2026 Backyard Ultra World Team Championships, organized by Red's Backyard Ultra. This is an invite-only international ultra event, not a casual run. Team Australia’s top 15 Backyard Ultra athletes will compete against national teams from around the world in a straightforward "Last one standing" format. The task is direct: complete the loop each hour, on the hour, and continue until only one runner remains. Each completed loop contributes to Team Australia’s score. Other national teams begin at the same global time, aiming for the "highest combined loop tally" and the designation of "strongest running nation on earth."
