About this race
Brighton Beach Marathon starts and finishes in Green Point, Brighton, with Beach Road closed to traffic for runners. It feels like a community event, not a large-scale spectacle. Many participants aim for personal bests, while others complete their first marathon. The Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation is again a supported cause.
The course itself is the main draw: runners immediately access the "breathtaking Bayside coastline." This allows for finding a rhythm and enjoying the atmosphere without traffic concerns. The course is known for being fast, with AIMS-certified routes, strategically placed aid stations, and support. The finish includes "roaring cheers," a medal, and the accomplishment of "smashing your goal."
