Mulligans Flat Carpark places you at the edge of the bush, with the route traversing the “scenic Mulligans Flat and Goorooyaroo Nature Reserves.” This is Canberra Runners’ Winter Series in its off-road form: a “challenging cross-country race” rather than a refined road event, with dirt roads and open reserve terrain dominating the course. The course is an out-and-back, offering the straightforward runner’s challenge: every incline, rough section, and quick stretch on the way out must be retraced on the way back. Expect club runners, non-members, solo participants, and relay teams to share the same winter-series atmosphere, with the finish returning to the starting point at Mulligans Flat Carpark.
