About this race
The "iconic Cape to Cape Track" forms the core of the Cape2Cape Ultra Marathon, a point-to-point race along the "stunning South West coastline." It begins near the lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin and finishes in Eagle Bay. This event is not a casual trail run; it has a small field size and is designed for experienced ultrarunners accustomed to moving for extended periods through exposed coastal terrain, forests, and at night.
Runners will encounter "diverse terrain including coastal cliffs, pristine beaches, ancient karri forests, and limestone caves." The course includes creek crossings and "challenging elevation changes" that will test participants. Support is available at key locations such as Cape Leeuwin, Gracetown, and Yallingup. The race's distinctiveness lies in the long stretches between aid stations, the views of the Indian Ocean, and the mental focus required for "navigating remote wilderness areas."
