Busselton Foreshore serves as the starting point, with the swim beginning from the familiar stretch by the beach and remaining close to shore. IRONMAN 70.3 Western Australia has a distinct identity: fast, relaxed, and “renowned worldwide for being the place to go for a personal best,” supported by flat riding and running rather than a course designed to challenge with hills.
The ROKA swim utilizes the bay and the Foreshore Swimming Enclosure area of Busselton Beach, offering “less exposure to the weather and better swim conditions” compared to a more open-water course. Following the swim, athletes return toward Transition 1 at Signal Park, navigate the drink station and racks, then proceed onto a flat bike course and return for a flat run. The field is expected to feature many athletes aiming for a year-end personal best, with the “laidback vibe” and warm weather contributing once initial nerves subside.
