Kalbarri Gorge Adventure Run
Saturday, May 30, 2026 · Hawks Head Road, Australia
About this race
Inside the National Park, the Kalbarri Gorge Adventure Run places you in terrain that demands a slower pace, even during a race. The course descends toward Kalbarri Gorge, offering views of the Gorge System and the red rocks Kalbarri is known for. It feels more like a hands-on trail mission than a standard run, attracting participants of various fitness levels and ages.
The course becomes physically demanding: a heart-pounding abseil using provided gear, followed by ladders down to the river. You then travel upstream along riverbanks, red ledges, and through pools, with cliffs creating "fantastic reflections." The return journey goes through the gorge, culminating in a climb up a narrow gully to the finish. This final ascent is a memorable challenge. The abseil is a unique feature, and the scenery throughout the event is striking.
