The run from O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat to Binna Burra Lodge forms the core of this traditional mountain race, tracing the "spectacular Border Track" within Lamington National Park. The Lamington Classic Trail Run, established in 1970, maintains a genuine runner's focus over a polished presentation: it involves rainforest, ridges, lodge-to-lodge travel, and a course demanding competence. Underfoot, anticipate "challenging terrain featuring exposed tree roots, rocky sections, and creek crossings," interspersed with steep ascents and technical descents.
