Mackay Marina Run

Mackay Marina Breakwater sets the scene: boats nearby, the yacht club behind, and the "stunning blue waters and subtropical scenery" providing the backdrop. The Mackay Marina Run offers a local running morning feel with a quick course, suitable for PB chasers and not intimidating for first-timers, beginners, corporate teams, or kids. The route is flat and fast from the breakwater, continuing through the marina precinct along Mulherin Drive, past sandy beaches, the blue water river, Mackay Marina Village, and the shipyard end of the harbour. It is road running on "pancake-flat terrain," finishing at the boat ramp end of the village. A race-day shuttle is provided, and the event supports the Leukaemia Foundation for those who wish to add a fundraising element to their run.
