Mansfield Marathon 2026

The Great Victoria Rail Trail forms the core of this event. Runners describe its surface as "arguably the best of all the rail trails for running." With Mt. Buller and Mt. Stirling in proximity, the Mansfield Marathon offers a local club race atmosphere, facilitating an easy weekend getaway. The running itself remains uncomplicated and functional. It is "run by the community for the community," organized by Mansfield Athletics and Friends of the Great Victorian Rail Trail. The course is a simple out-and-back, preventing any possibility of disorientation, with minimal road crossings to interrupt the pace. It is predominantly flat, though "the few undulations are welcome" for leg variation, positioning it as a "perfect off road marathon for beginners through to elite runners."
