About this race
The 2XU Noosa 1000 Ocean Swim is a 1km M-shaped open-water race held at Noosa Main Beach. It is open to elite swimmers and age-group athletes and takes place during Noosa Tri week. The course starts at Noosa Main Beach, heads into the Pacific Ocean on a 1-kilometre M-shaped loop, and finishes at the same sandy beach. The course runs parallel to the shoreline, providing clear visibility and opportunities to see marine life. Swimmers can expect gentle swells and occasional currents. Lifeguards and safety boats will be present. The swim is timed, with each of the three legs of the 'M' being approximately 300-350 metres. The finish occurs at sunset.
