Campbelltown Athletics Track at the Campbelltown Sports Centre is the venue: no bush, no road loop, just “Australia's newest all weather 400m Synthetic Track” and the clock. This is the 6th running of the Southern Sydney 24 Hour Ultra, with the main race also carrying Australian track championship weight, so expect a field that understands repetition, patience, and damage control.
The course is brutally simple: lane after lane on a synthetic oval, every lap measured, every bad patch coming back around soon enough. Ultra runners show up for this kind of thing because there is nowhere to hide, but also nowhere to get lost; your crew, the timing mat, and the finish line are always close. It is a stripped-back track ultra, and that is exactly the point.
