Unbreakable 2026

The rugged Marysville region is the focus: mountainous terrain, difficult navigation, and minimal comfort. Unbreakable started in 2021 as an all-Australian response to the Barkley Marathons of Frozen Head State Park, designed for ultra runners who understand that “something must give.” Expect “remote, often off-trail mountainous terrain,” with no GPS, phones, or markers, only “relying solely on a map and compass.” Each lap requires locating hidden books, tearing out the page that matches your bib, and meeting “Strict 8-12 hour cutoffs per lap” before being permitted back out; it attracts elite runners and determined trail runners from across the globe who are not seeking a simple finish.
