About this race
Anzac Parade places you directly on the main route for the Yeppoon Running Festival. The foreshore is close, giving the race a distinctly coastal feel from the outset. It offers the atmosphere of a local running weekend with a practical charity component, benefiting Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary. It also holds the distinction of being Central Queensland's sole marathon. The event's aim is straightforward: “run in paradise with our scenic and beautiful courses,” presented without unnecessary complication.
The courses are fast and flat. Depending on your chosen event, they feature fewer laps or straightforward out-and-back sections, catering to runners “chasing a PB or enjoying the view.” The start and finish are in the town center. Participants will experience the crowds along the main route before heading towards the beach, then venturing slightly inland through green areas. Families attend, as do runners of all speeds and experience levels. A notable aspect is the blend of “hustle and bustle or peaceful tropical forestry” within a single event.
