About this race
Ořešínský Vánek, Vichr, and Blesk is a mountain-bike race day held on the forest roads near Ořešín. It features three distinct races rather than a single combined field. Vánek is designated for children and youth, Vichr is for adult mountain bikers, and Blesk offers a separate race specifically for e-bike riders. The event's structure is intentionally inclusive, welcoming anyone who can ride a bike and enjoys doing so, from toddlers on balance bikes to participants in older adult categories. Helmets are required, and entry into the children’s Vánek race is free.
The race distances are adjusted based on age and category. The youngest children will compete over 400 metres or 800 metres. Older children will navigate short, multi-lap courses, while the oldest youth categories will cover distances up to 6.9 km for boys and 4.6 km for girls. Within the Vichr race, women's categories will ride 16 km across two laps, and men's categories will complete 32 km over four laps. These categories include cadets, juniors, younger adults, masters, and riders over 50. The top three finishers in each category will be awarded medals and material prizes, making the day suitable as a family cycling occasion and a competitive local race for those seeking a challenge.
