About this race

Okolo jižních Čech is a four-day international road cycling stage race held in and around South Bohemia, typically in early September. It is classified as a UCI Europe Tour 2.2 event, allowing Elite and U23 riders to compete for UCI points beyond a local title. The competition features approximately 25 professional teams from multiple countries, and organizers consider it the second most significant road race on the Czech cycling calendar. The event has been held consistently since 2012. The route covers approximately 637 km, with stages connecting towns including Třeboň, Jemnice, Nové Hrady, Studená, Český Krumlov, Horská Kvilda, Trhové Sviny, and Jindřichův Hradec. The course crosses South Bohemian roads and extends into Vysočina and West Bohemia, incorporating regions like Czech Canada, the Novohradské Mountains, and Šumava. Jindřichův Hradec serves as the race's traditional center and final destination. Similar to the Tour de France, it employs leader jerseys: yellow for the overall leader, green for points classification, white with red polka dots for the mountains, and white for the leading U23 rider. The start and finish towns organize fan activities, a spectator lottery, children's races, and a race for disabled riders on the concluding day.
