Run Berounka Run is a 130 km relay race along the Berounka river, beginning in Újezd u Svatého Kříže and concluding in Prague. It takes place in early October. Most teams consist of 3 to 6 runners; solo participants can compete in the Ultra category. The event is limited to 80 relay teams and 55 Ultra runners, maintaining a focused team challenge atmosphere rather than a large-scale race.
The course traces the Berounka corridor westward toward Prague, primarily on trails, with approximately 3000 m of elevation gain over the entire distance. Teams utilize GPS tracking and a mobile application to monitor the active runner, view results, get organizer notifications, and arrange subsequent handovers. This format emphasizes coordination as much as running pace: positioning the correct runner at each exchange point is nearly as critical as navigating the extensive river route.
