Plzeň's running scene centers on the Zlatá desítka Emila Zátopka 10km race, a flat course through the city and along the Radbuza River. Cyclists tackle the Aimtec Open Race — Cyklomaraton Plzeň — Berounka Trails (54km), which climbs into the forested hills south toward the Berounka valley around 300m elevation gain. The terrain around the city is mixed: river valleys and easy parkland for base training, with proper climbing 15–20km south into the Bohemian plateau.
