Štramberský jasoň 2026

Štramberský Jasoň sends walkers from several towns in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids toward one shared finish: the square in Štramberk. It is an annual September long-distance tourist march with race options too, including a half marathon and the timed JASOŇ50, a 50 km route from Frýdlant nad Ostravicí over Lysá hora with a 13-hour limit. The programme is broad rather than single-distance, with routes from 6 km to 67 km plus a 46 km cycling route from Ostrava through Olešná. Most routes start in Kopřivnice, but others come in from Frýdek-Místek over Palkovické hůrky, from Frenštát over Velký Javorník or through Lichnov, and from Kopřivnice through Hukvaldy, Libotín, Příbor, Bílá hora, or Paseky. The shortest 6 km route and the 13 km route via Příbor are marked as suitable for strollers and seniors, so the day is not only for hardened hikers. Along the way, participants can pass Štramberk Castle and its tower, Šipka Cave, Kamenárka, the Zdeněk Burian Museum, Bílá hora Lookout Tower, and Váňův kámen. The event has an old fitness motto — 'If you want to stay fit, you have to go to Štramberk!' — and a coin tradition with a strict rule: miss a year, and you can never earn that coin.
