PiesBERG-Ultra-Marathon is a small trail ultra in Osnabrück, Germany, centered on the Piesberg and its stairs. The full race covers 59.5 km with 2,100 meters of elevation gain and 3,396 steps, placing it significantly beyond a road marathon even before the stair repetitions begin. It is an April event with a field limited to 120 runners, and this year marks the twelfth running.
The full course consists of approximately six laps on mostly gravel and natural paths. A shorter PUMelchen option allows runners to finish one lap early at 49.0 km, 1,750 meters of climbing, and 2,830 steps. Both distances share an 11-hour time limit, and participants must start their final lap by 5:00 PM. PUMelchen does not require a separate entry; classification is automatic for those who stop one lap early. The route was slightly shortened following test-runner input, intended to improve its flow while retaining the repeated climbs and stair sections that define the race.
