About this race
The Flutlicht-Crosslauf is an autumn floodlight cross-country race held in Lüchtringen, within the Crosspark at the Sollingstadion. The event maintains a straightforward, local setup: a prepared cross course, evening illumination, race officials and marshals along the route, and separate races for different groups instead of a single mass start. It has been conducted at least nineteen times, establishing it as a regular fixture for local runners rather than an isolated club event.
The primary course consists of three laps, each featuring ascents, making pacing more critical than an initial fast start. The race's identity is tied to its lighting, with participants competing after sunset under floodlights. Youth athletes also compete, including an U14 event covering 1,400 meters with limited participants. Club runners and age-group competitors are prominent: Non-Stop-Ultra has secured the team classification, Meron placed third overall while winning his age category, Simone claimed her age category, and Fikadu maintains an age-class record on the 4,000-meter course.
