About this race
The Frankenwaldlauf um den Preis der Kulmbacher Brauerei is an October race in Ludwigschorgast, Germany, with all events beginning at 2:00 PM. The main Frankenwaldlauf is an 11-kilometer run, the Kulmbacher Steinie-Funlauf provides a 5-kilometer option, and the Sparkassen Nordic-Walking event spans 8.4 kilometers with timing but no official ranking.
The courses are in the Franconian Forest area and are intended for regular runners, club teams, casual entrants, and Nordic walkers. Team scoring is applied only to the 11-kilometer race, using the combined times of each club’s three fastest men or women. The top three teams receive prizes from Kulmbacher Brewery. The fastest men’s team also competes for a wooden-barrel traveling trophy, which a team keeps permanently after three consecutive wins. Finishers receive a small Kulmbacher gift upon returning their race number at the finish area. Strict rules apply: numbers must be visible on the front, and Nordic walkers are disqualified if they cover the route at a running pace.
