About this race
The Schwarzwald Bike-Marathon is an off-road mountain bike marathon held at RENA Stadion in Furtwangen im Schwarzwald, located in Germany's High Black Forest. Approximately 1,300 cyclists participate annually, with Schwarzwald-Bike-Marathon e.V. serving as the organizer. The Rothaus Cup route, the longest option, covers 94 km with 1,900 meters of climbing, positioning the main race as a true endurance challenge rather than a brief trail ride.
Riders may select a 59 km course featuring 1,000 meters of elevation gain or one of two 46 km routes, each with 700 meters of climbing. The shorter 46 km options are the Magna E-Cup and the tw-elektric Cup, accommodating various rider types and equipment. The event also features youth and children's categories, welcoming not only marathon specialists but also local riders, families, and the broader bike community during the race weekend in Furtwangen.
