About this race
The Kaisersesch cross-country race starts at the Waldsportplatz in Kaisersesch, located in the Eifel hills of the Cochem-Zell district. This autumn club event includes races for young children, school-age runners, hobby runners, and adults. Distances are 300 m for U8 and younger, 1,100 m for U10 and U12, 1,900 m for U14 and U16, 4,100 m for the Jedermann/frau race from U18, and an 8,200 m main race for U20 and older.
The course winds through the area surrounding Kaisersesch, with a slightly modified route for children and youth. This race is one of three events that count towards the Cochem-Zell Crosslauf Series, which also includes races organized by VfL Bremm and SV Alflen. Participants competing in all three races accumulate points for the overall standings and can contend for the district championship title. The event relies on a local athletics club's efforts, with volunteers managing cake donations, sales, and start-finish operations. A recent running of the race saw 145 participants compete across all distances.
