About this race
The Wunstorfer Einheitscross begins at the Stadtschule in Wunstorf, Lower Saxony, on the Day of German Unity, with participants departing between 09:30 and 10:00. This event is a CTF, a non-competitive country touring ride over mixed terrain, organized by Radsportclub Wunstorf von 1983 e.V. Riders can select routes of 44, 73, or 100 km, featuring approximately 250, 520, or 610 meters of elevation gain, respectively. The shortest option is suitable for a relaxed outing, while the longer routes present a greater challenge for distance enthusiasts.
The routes traverse the area between Wunstorf and the Schaumburger Wald, but are not marked. Participants navigate using GPS tracks instead of road signs. The club provides guided groups at various paces, or individuals can ride independently. A checkpoint in Bergkirchen offers food tailored for cyclists. The entry fee covers cold and warm beverages, a substantial cake selection, and the customary “Renn-Bratwurst,” contributing to the event's distinct local club atmosphere.
