About this race
The O-SEE Ultra Trail 50km is a mountain trail race held in Oybin, Saxony, within the Zittauer Gebirge Nature Park. The 50km route measures approximately 50.5 km with about 2,022 meters of elevation gain, presenting a true ultra-distance challenge rather than a simple forest run. This event takes place in Germany’s smallest low mountain range, near the border tripoint of Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic, typically occurring in October.
The course follows nature-park trails around the Zittau Mountains, winding past sandstone rock formations and the historic castle and monastery ruins at Oybin. The overall O-SEE event offers a range of distances from short children's races to 100 km, including 25 km, 75 km, and walking options, youth runs, and canicross for participants with dogs. This variety attracts competitive trail runners, recreational runners, families, and championship athletes to the same race weekend. GPS live tracking is available for the longer distances.
